DOMINANT Opto Technologies equips Haima`s SUV
High efficient LEDs from DOMINANT Opto Technologies are upgrading the exterior illumination of Haima’s first SUV.
World wide adopted rear combination lamps integrate multiple signal lamp functions and serve as visual indicators informing other motorists and pedestrians of the driver's actions and/or intentions. Unlike the single point incandescent bulbs, several LEDs acting in conjunction providing the required intensity for the combined Stop and Tail lamp functions. The tail lamp light is equipped with 12 amber Power DomiLEDs and 6 amber Primax for the brake light. The tail lamp requires a lower intensity and needs to be regulated at a lower average power in comparison to the brake light function. Due to the very short switch-on time of LEDs compared to formerly used bulbs such LED brake lights are extending the reaction time for the following motorists helping them to avoid accidents.
LEDs are solid-state light sources designed not only to efficiently produce light but also to deliver solutions that provide opportunities for styling differentiation and modularity while optimizing mechanical and electrical efficiency.
Haima’s engineers team has opted LED light sources for their design choosing Power DomiLED and Primax. Decisive factors for their decision have been the low power consumption, high functionality and the extremely small size being a crucial benefit for automobile designers replacing traditional light sources with LEDs in automotive applications where limited space is essential.
